معنی: شدیداً انتقاد کردن، به باد انتقاد گرفتن – منفجر شدن – ناگهان و بطور حاد بروز کردن (برای بیماری)
حالت: fulminate یک فعل است و حالت اسم آن fulmination است.

توضیح:
باز هم یک کلمه دیگر با مفهوم انتقاد کردن! زبان انگلیسی پر است از کلماتی که مفهوم انتقاد کردن دارند و من قبلاً در همین مجموعه عصرانه با لغت در مورد یکی از متداول ترین آنها، یعنی censure، حرف زدم. بگذارید چند تا از آنها را صرفاً نام ببرم:
censure, denounce, condemn, disparage, denigrate, chastise, reprove, rebuke, admonish, vituperate, reproach
خب، شاید دارید فکر می کنید آیا همه اینها کاربردی هستند و یادگیری آنها لازم است. پاسخ بلی است! کلمات فوق همگی مفهومی از انتقاد کردن در خود دارند و همگی هم رایج هستند، پس یادگرفتن آنها به شدت توصیه می شود. این کلمات در لیست عصرانه قرار دارند و در آینده آنها را در مجموعه عصرانه با لغت خواهید دید.
امروز می خواهم سه معنی از معانی fulminate را بررسی کنم. معنی اول fulminate انتقاد کردن و با پرخاش گفتن است.
وقتی کسی علیه چیزی fulminate می کند، شدیداً از آن چیز انتقاد می کند. انتقادی که در fulminate وجود دارد بسیار آتشین می باشد و با انتقاد های عادی کاملاً فرق دارد. به مثال های زیر دقت کنید:
- She fulminated against the bad social policies.
- The editorial fulminated against the proposed tax increase.
یا این جمله از مقاله ای از رویترز درباره موضع روسیه و چین در مورد بمباران احتمالی سوریه:
- “China and Russia will fulminate against any missile strikes on Syria, but they could be severely outnumbered at the U.N.,” he said.

معنی دوم fulminate منفجر شدن است. مثلاً برخی مواد تمایل زیادی به انفجار دارند!
- The slightest friction will cause this powder to fulminate.
- The disease fulminated.
مثلاً آپاندیس وقتی fulminate کند، بیمار بطور ناگهانی (بعلت عفونت آپاندیس) حالش بد می شود.
- Fulminating appendicitis
- The course of the anemia ranges from mild with gradually developing symptoms to acute with fulminating symptoms.

Here, if I were you, I would say :

or:
I was fulminated and warned not to eat my dinner at the library.

get a life is an idiom that came from another idiom get a job.
when you tell sb to get a life, you mean that person is spending too much time doing sth you think is worthless or hopeless or at least not good to be done that much. However, sometimes when you tell sb to get a life, you just want to emphasize that what they are doning is too much!
